How do I know which league is right for my child?
The BMC leagues are divided in the following manner (by grade at registration time):
  • Little Sluggers – Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
  • Elementary – 3rd, 4th and 5th grades
  • Junior High – 6th, 7th and 8th grades
My child is an excellent player.  Can she play up a level?
No.  BMC has researched the proper league levels for all of our young players and will not make exceptions for skill level.
When do leagues start?
Teams will be formed in late March/early April with practices starting the week of April 8, 2018.  Games begin the week of May 14, 2018
What days are practices and games on?
This varies depending on what league your player is in. Practice days could typically be any day during the week (including the weekend) for any league.  Your child’s coach will determine the exact practice schedule.  Game days for Little Sluggers will be on Mondays & Wednesdays; for Elementary will be Mondays & Wednesdays; and for Jr. High will be Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Can I request a particular team?
There is a place on the registration form where you can indicate any special placement requests.  The BMC Team Selection Committee tries its best to accommodate these special wishes.  However, BMC cannot guarantee that requests will be met.  The Junior High league utilizes a draft to form teams - no friend requests will be honored.
I am interested in helping out, but I cannot commit to being a head coach.
The BMC is a volunteer-based organization providing opportunities for over 150 ball players per year.  We are always looking for volunteers to help out with our program.  Please consider being an assistant coach, scorekeeper or volunteering in our Concession Stand.  Please join us for our monthly Board meetings at Berkley Community Center.
